About flights to Milan
Three providers regularly cover Thessaloniki–Milan, each landing at a different airport. Ryanair (FR) flies SKG–BGY year-round, typically with Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday departures depending on season. This is almost always the cheapest option, but bag policy is strict: only a small underseat bag is included, anything larger costs €25-40 each way. easyJet (U2) flies SKG–MXP seasonally from April through October, three to four days per week, with one cabin bag included in standard fare. Wizz Air (W6) sometimes operates SKG–FCO via Rome rather than direct Milan, useful when you want flexibility between Rome and Milan on the same trip. For weekend trips, Friday evening to Bergamo with Sunday return is the dominant cheap pattern — usually €60-90 round-trip in spring and autumn, slightly higher in July-August. Direct flight time is 2 hours 5 minutes. Book 4-6 weeks ahead for best Ryanair fares; easyJet often has last-minute deals 1-2 weeks out. Weekend trips paired with Italian Serie A home games (San Siro stadium) see prices spike — check the AC Milan and Inter calendars before fixing dates.

What to pack
Milan's climate is more continental than Mediterranean — colder winters (often near freezing in January-February) and hot humid summers (peak around 30°C). Spring (April-June) and autumn (September-October) are mildest with temperatures in 15-22°C range. Pack light layers year-round: the city has frequent temperature swings between morning and afternoon. November fog is dense — visibility can drop sharply. Light rain is common in spring; a compact umbrella saves the trip. Italians dress sharper than in northern Greece, so a smart-casual outfit fits in for evening dinners.
